Every year, tens of thousands of semi-custom wigs are shipped from China to Jewish communities in Israel and abroad.

Where are all those wigs being sold?

In many cases, local sheitel machers are misrepresenting these wigs as being produced locally. In some cases they are even sold as locally produced custom European hair wigs. We do not condone this misrepresentation but the very fact that this is done widely is evidence of the high quality of the hair and wig
construction.

How do we know this?

• When we work with suppliers, they remind us that our leverage is quite low… since our orders for ~30 per batch is considered to be low volume. This tells us that they are producing and shipping much larger volumes of wigs to other local sellers.
• Our suppliers keep asking us why we leave their own tag in the wig, and don’t request our custom tags be put in… like their other many customers do.
• One supplier asked us to stop giving out their info to individual buyers, since they only work with wholesalers. In other words, they are selling a lot of Chinese made wigs to local Jewish suppliers.
• Another supplier revealed that a local wholesale customer had falsely labeled the Chinese made wigs as custom European hair wigs.
• Many sheitel machers from Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh, Beitar, and as far a Zfat have approached us for products. They tell us that they usually order from China themselves, yet wish to rely on our large inventory to instantly access wigs that otherwise would take weeks or months to arrive.

• Showing you exactly who our suppliers are. Every wig is labeled with the original supplier tags.
• Publishing our prices in our online catalog – No shuk negotiations or prices made up based on what we think you are willing to pay.
• Telling you up front – yes, all of our wigs are purchased directly from China (and you can order directly if you want to, as well.)
• Yes, you can take the wig to your sheitel macher to have it checked out before deciding to purchase (a fully refundable deposit is required can be via a pending charge on your credit card).

Why are wigs so expensive despite the highly competitive market? Most wig sellers include services like color and cutting in their wig prices. This drives the price up. They also typically include a warranty which customers often interpret as including a lot more service than it actually does, leaving them feeling frustrated when the seller does not honor it. 

We focus on only one thing: Giving you the opportunity to purchase wigs imported from China  with the bonus that you can try before you buy. Because we don’t offer services or a warranty, this allows us to provide you with wigs at close to cost. Even if you did experience a warranty issue and had to pay to repair it, you will still have saved a lot of money compared to paying full retail price.

You can go directly to our suppliers and order these same wigs from China yourself. But in our experience, many are hesitant to do this since the wig they envision may not be the wig they receive. There are so many variables such as color, length, waviness and feel of the hair – and sometimes it doesn’t turn out exactly how you’ve envisioned it. Even though the cost is a bit lower than buying a wig from Ramot Wigs (and much lower than purchasing elsewhere), it is still a lot of money to send to an unknown supplier.

We keep several hundred wigs in stock in our Jerusalem showroom. This enables you to see, feel and try on before you buy. You also do not need to wait weeks or months for delivery from China. No need to deal with import hassle and meches. For this convenience, we only charge a small premium over what it would cost to order directly from the manufacturer.

We strive to create an environment in our showroom where our customers do not feel pressured to purchase. One of the ways we do this is by providing a full salary to our salespeople so they don’t feel the need to push a sale.
